How to Apply

This is an online application, competency based application process.

Please note, that the closing date is strictly noon on Wednesday 1 August 2018

Registering and Creating an Account

You will be able to register and create an account once you go through to apply for the role.

Click on 'Continue to full details and application', read and accept the Privacy Policy, and again click 'Continue to full details and application'. Then click on the blue 'Register' button on the left.

Choose a username and password. Keep these safe as you will need your account details to access your application and receive messages from us securely.

When you have satisfied yourself that you meet the role criteria and eligibility requirements, click on the blue ‘Apply for this role’ button. On the next screen, you will be asked a number of eligibility questions. If you do not meet the required eligibility, you will not be able to proceed with your application.

We will communicate with you throughout the process via notification messages in your account. We will send you emails to alert you to a new message, but you will need to login to your account to access it. This is to protect your privacy.

Once you have set up an account, you can log in at any time using the username and password you have created.

Competency Based Online Application

You will then be asked to provide a brief summary of your career history. Please note this section has a word limit of 600 words and should not be an upload of your CV.

There follows a number of evidence-based competency questions, which you are asked to complete online. You are required to address the Core competency questions 1-4. When responding to these questions, please also refer to the additional desirable knowledge and skills for Council members on pages 8- 9 of this pack and ensure that your responses to the 4 core competencies also highlights examples of experience in line with these areas. Your evidence against these additional areas will be noted and considered when selecting two similar candidates with equal scores.  

There is a 500 word limit for each of these questions. You can save your application at any point and return to it later.

The final stage of the online application will ask you to complete some additional sections, including providing two referees, details of other NHS commitments and Conflicts of Interest. Once complete, you will be asked to make a final submission of your application. Once submitted, you cannot retrieve your application to make any further amends so ensure you are happy that it is fully complete. Please also allow yourself sufficient time to complete the process, particularly if you are unfamiliar with online recruitment processes. Your application must be received by the deadline of noon on Wednesday 1 August. We regret that late applications will not be accepted.  

After you have completed the Equal Opportunities information, you will see a confirmation screen acknowledging your application. You will also receive an email to the email address you provided, confirming receipt of your application.
